Illustrious New York Ferry Fleet Protected With Smart Solution

CLEARWATER, FL (July 19, 2012) –

Alan Warren, Vice President of Operations for NY Waterway Ferries, currently has 16 vessels in his fleet painted with Sea Hawk Smart Solution™.

“Although we were very hesitant in switching products at first, changing to Sea Hawk Smart Solution™ was a wise choice,” reported Warren. “The support from our territory manager, Mark Andres, has been amazing. We were in a tough situation, as every product we were using just would not stand up to the environment we operate in. Marine growth such as slime and barnacles on our bottoms became more and more of a problem because of lost efficiency due to burning more fuel,” he said.

Warren said that they normally haul quite frequently, but their first application of Sea Hawk worked well into its second season. “Sea Hawk Smart Solution is the best product we have used in the past ten years. We are extremely happy with it, and it has definitely been the right ‘solution’ for the New York Waterway fleet,” he said.

Alan Warren coordinated the response of 14 NY Waterway ferry crews who pulled 143 people from the icy waters of the Hudson River within minutes of the crash landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in 2009.
