Pinellas Park, FL – September 1, 2015 – The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch (WWAR) held it’s first fundraiser September 1 with it’s Alive Ride – a 5.2-mile bike ride for veterans. The bike ride, in Pinellas Park, FL, ended with a cookout and a reception at Custom Mobility with a reception party. At the reception WWAR founder, Mike Delancey, was presented with a gift vehicle – the first multi-purpose 4×4 vehicle with towing capabilities that is outfitted for a driver with disabilities – from Braun Ability. The Tampa Bay Lightning presented a check to the WWAR organization. Sea Hawk Paints donated antifouling paint for the WWAR boat that will take veterans out on the water for fishing and boating activities.
The WWAR ranch will be ADA accessible and include fitness stations, equestrian trails and horse stalls, a multipurpose sports court, hunting and fishing, a pavilion with grills, picnic tables, and a playground. It also will organize fishing, kayaking and sailing trips, as well as accessible transportation to medical facilities, area beaches, airports and other local attractions.
